Iniciamos un nuevo capítulo en la historia del deporte guatemalteco.

Con el transcurrir del tiempo, voy a ir dando a conocer lo más sobresaliente, tanto en acontecimientos que han sido noticias de primeras planas, como datos estadísticos y anécdotas jocosas, para que el navegante sepa un poco más de nuestra propia historia deportiva, la cual ha estado por mucho tiempo registrada en crónicas y fotografías en los periódicos de sus respectivas épocas.

Ojalá que las federaciones de nuestro país tuvieran algún día su propia trayectoria, pero en la actualidad son pocas las que cuentan con su archivo, pues algunas juntas directivas prefieren vivir el momento, pero nunca el ayer.

En lo personal, y luego ya de 40 años de andar bregando en el periodismo deportivo, hoy lanzo ante la opinión guatemalteca e internacional, el recorrido chapín en cuanto al futbol se refiere, que en sus torneos nacionales ha venido a enriquecernos a nosotros mismos, pero muy rara vez  ha traspasado nuestras fronteras pátrias.

Paulatinamente iremos dando a conocer los demás deportes, pero por el momento enfocamos la siempre pasión por el futbol.
